The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Orlando is a nonprofit, social service organization dedicated to serving people in need, regardless of race or religion. SVdP offers assistance to those who have fallen upon times of hardship and personal crisis. Ways in which SVdP helps include providing food, clothing, housing assistance, utility assistance, and furniture.

Door of Hope Re-Entry Program

Door of Hope Re-Entry program addresses the needs of ex-offenders. Our mission is to ensure program participants have an effective and successful transition into mainstream society. Door of Hope Re-Entry program will assist ex-offenders in addressing their housing, educational and employment needs.

Services provided:

– case management for those recently exiting the criminal justice system.

All services offered by the Door of Hope Re-Entry Program are free of charge.

The Housing Opportunity for Persons with AIDS- Case Management.

The Housing Opportunity for Persons with HIV/AIDS (HOPWA) program at Miracle of Love addresses specific housing needs to low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

This program provides:

– Financial assistance
– Help pay for housing
– Help pay for utilities
– Help find housing
– Support network

Eligibility: 

Must provide verifiable documentation of inability to make housing payment as it relates to their HIV disease. Federal guidelines require each recipient to contribute 30% of their household income to their monthly housing expense.

Homeless Outreach Partnership Effort (H.O.P.E.)

Health Care Center For The Homeless offers their Homeless Outreach Partnership Effort (H.O.P.E.) to support individuals experiencing homelessness.

This program provides:

– Linkage to transportation for medical/mental health/substance use treatment appointments
– Referrals for shelter/food/clothing
– Eligibility assessments for housing assistance
– Help obtaining identification cards & birth certificates
– Family re-unification
– Linkage to VA services for veterans
– Assistance in accessing mainstream benefits

The H.O.P.E. team visits locations where people experiencing homelessness live and survive, such as in the streets, in encampments and shelters, and in the woods. Those experiencing homelessness, or their loved ones can also call the H.O.P.E. team for assistance.
